Just a thought…

I’d rather you dislike me for who I am than like me for who I am not.

Don’t waste my time or yours pretending to be

that figment of your imagination.

I’d rather hurt knowing the truth

than be led on believing lies I’m told just to keep me happy.

I give you that respect and expect it in return.

“… the end result of cowardice is more disastrous than that of behaving with integrity.” Hiding behind a facade is cowardly. Aren’t those cowards worse off for their deceit and aren’t you better off without cowards in your life?

Integrity is not a “conditional” word. It doesn’t blow in the wind or change with the weather. It is your inner image of yourself, and if you look in there and see a man who won’t cheat, then you know he never will.

It takes a measure of courage and self worth to cut oneself off, for whatever reason, from from those with whom one has been intimate emotionally, physically or merely socially. Cudos to those who do so for their own sake.

    Don’t be a stranger.
